When you set up a retirement account with Catch, you have the option to choose between a Standard portfolio and a Social Good portfolio.

Standard retirement portfolios are made up of a diversified group of investments. These investments are primarily selected based on their performance and expected growth potential in the future.

Social Good portfolios use a process known as Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) analysis. ESG analysis applies an additional process of filtering investments based on their environmental, social, and governance characteristics. Companies that have a positive impact on the environment and/or society and who have diverse leadership are included, while those with negative impacts are excluded. Examples of these exclusions would be companies that produce fossil fuels, weapons, and tobacco products.

The filter criteria is built using the standards of U.N. global compact principles as well as additional filters built by Vanguard and iShares.
